8 bird that have disappeared from the earth.
Due to habitat destruction, poaching, or other human activity, the following eight bird species are no longer in existence:
Dodo bird
1.Dodo bird: In 1681, the dodo (Raphus cucullatus) went extinct.Human hunting, deforestation, and the introduction of animals (such rats and pigs) caused the dodo to go extinct. It couldn't fly and only existed on the island of Mauritius. The dodo was a vital component of the island's natural ecology prior to the arrival of humans.
Passenger Pigeon
2.Passenger Pigeon: Human overhunting and habitat degradation were the main causes of these birds. This bird lived in the thick woods of Mexico, Canada, and the United States. They were the world's most prevalent birds. Ectopistes migratorius, the traveler pigeon, went terminated in 1914.
Carolina Parakeet
3.Carolina Parakeet: Conuropsis carolinensis, often known as the Carolina Parakeet, went extinct in 1918.The main reasons were deforestation, agricultural hunting, and feather harvesting. It was found throughout the central and eastern regions of the United States. The final wild bird was sighted in 1904, and the last captive bird perished in 1918.
Great Auk
4.Great Auk: Overhunting and egg collecting are the main causes of this species' demise. Its habitat was the North Atlantic, especially the coastlines of Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Canada, and Britain. They were seabirds without wings. The Great Auk (Pinguinus impennis) went extinct in 1844.
Ivory-billed Woodpecker
5.Ivory-billed Woodpecker: The Ivory-billed Woodpecker (Campephilus principalis) is found in the forests of Cuba and the United States. It is thought to have become extinct after 1944 due to habitat deterioration and deforestation. However, the veracity of it has been debated in recent years.
6.Laughing owls: Hunting, deforestation, and invading predator species have caused laughing owls to go extinct.Native to New Zealand, the bird was mostly found in the woods and grasslands of the island. In 1914, the laughing owl, or Sceloglaux albifacies, went extinct.
Moa bird
7.Moa bird: Between 1440 and 1500, the Moa (Dinornithiformes) went extinct. It has gone extinct as a result of habitat degradation and human poaching.Only in New Zealand were moa birds found. They were big, flightless birds that could reach a height of 12 feet.
Labrador duck
8.Labrador duck: By the late 19th century, the Labrador duck (Camptorhynchus labradorius) may have gone extinct by 1875.The main causes of its extinction were habitat loss and predation. This bird was mostly found on the shores of the United States and Canada. Another factor contributing to extinction was a shortage of food.
